2000, the declaration of an annual FCEM Day to be celebrated on the Third Friday
of May was voted and confirmed in unanimity during the World Committee meeting
held October 3, 2000 during the 48 th FCEM World Congress in Tunis, Tunisia.
Each year since 2001, FCEM Day has been celebrated on the third Friday of the
month of May by the FCEM member associations and friends of FCEM all around the
world.
Feting for the eighth consecutive year, FCEM Day this year will be observed
on Friday May 16, 2008.
At the national level FCEM associations are encouraged to organize and
regroup their members in a nationwide celebration. Suggestions include: to
organize a "Success Stories" forum with testimonials from women business owners;
the organization of a luncheon debate bringing together high level government
officials and diplomats and the holding of a conference with a membership drive
and a mentoring program, with a media campaign. All these activities contribute
to the valorisation of the role of women entrepreneurs in sustainable
development in their respective countries.

The overall objective of celebrating FCEM Day in addition to being an
important moment to honor women entrepreneurs and a unifying event for FCEM
members all around the world, is to have the United Nations General Assembly

to forward in their name via fax or e-mail a letter to H.E. Dr. Srgjan
Kerim, President of the United Nations General Assembly (with a copy to Ban
