The Pioneer Award
Open to any FCEM member heading a medium or large company that is active in international business.
The candidate must have owned the company for at least 10 years and be still actively involved in managing its operations. Her success must be an example for all women business-owners. She should also be active on the international scene. This award is a tribute to the achievements of women business-owners.
The Most Innovative Company Award
Open to any FCEM member heading a small business with about 10 employees
The candidate has been active as the business-owner and leader for at least 3 and not more than 5 years. Her business offers an innovative product, service or marketing strategy, which is supported by a solid business development plan. She has grown her business and increased its sales turnover by developing markets for her products and services internationally.
- Selection process
Each National President shall select the best candidate for each category. The applications for the finalists chosen by the national associations shall be submitted to the FCEM World President who, in collaboration with an independent jury, shall choose the entrepreneurs who will receive these awards.
The awards will be presented in person at the Gala dinner that closes every FCEM World Congress. The candidates must therefore be present at the dinner.
- General rules
The candidates shall belong to the industrial and trade sectors, or be a service provider.
Franchisees are not eligible.
The candidates shall give proof that they are the majority owner, partner or shareholder of a company, that the greater part of their earnings comes from the business and that they have invested their own risk capital in the company.
All candidates shall have been active in their business for at least 3 years.
All FCEM members who satisfy these criteria are encouraged to enter their application.
The candidates shall be eligible for only one category of award.
The jury shall, with the candidate’s approval, suggest a change of category deemed to be more suitable than the one chosen by the candidate.
Each national finalist shall present two professional photographs in black and white (format 4 cms by 6 cms) for promotional purposes. These photographs will not be returned.

How and why the company was started, legal structure, responsibilities of the management team, in particular those of the candidate, current and projected organisational structure, number of employees
- Products and services
Precise definition and description of products and services offered
- Marketing objectives
Size of target market, potential growth and trends, current and potential competitors, targeted market position or niche, current and projected strategic advantage
- Growth strategy
Sales forecast for the next three years. What are the potential threats or obstacles to the company’s success and how do you plan to overcome them ?
How have you financed your company up till now, including investment needed to launch the company and finance its growth?
- Quality promise
How does your business develop and maintain the quality of its products and services with respect to its customers, employees, the community and the environment?
To take part in the competition for the FCEM Entrepreneur Awards, the finalists nominated for these awards shall submit a specially prepared presentation containing precise information on all the criteria listed above. The presentation shall not be more than 5 pages, with the following documents annexed: proof of ownership and role in the company, advertising material for the company’s products and services, and any other relevant information concerning the company’s activities. This presentation will not be returned and will be exhibited in a special programme during the FCEM World Congress. The application shall clearly state that the company satisfies all the criteria and conditions governing the FCEM Entrepreneur Award. Candidates submitting incomplete applications or false or misleading information shall be disqualified automatically.
The candidates are strongly advised to include a 3-minute video presentation of their company in their application.
